Idriss Al-Jay was born in Fes (Marocco). Since he was a child he has taken a great interest in traditional tales and music. In the 70s he begun to write for theater und to study the Islam at Fes University.
Since the end of 1998 Idriss Al-Jay lives in Hannover (Germany). He is working as a professional actor and stage-manager with free theatergroups. He also appeared with radio plays. At schools, institutes and universities he leads theaterprojects with children and young persons.
At the International Theater Festival 1994 in Casablanca Idriss Al-Jay has taken part very successful. He appeares as storyteller in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Since 1998 he is writing for different newspapers.
