Cat
was born and raised in Liverpool. She studied Drama at the University
of Hull , and her style remains strongly theatrical. She is a charismatic
performer, who charms audiences with a seductive blend of narrative,
song, music and her own allure.
Her approach is instinctive rather than academic; more conjuror
than bard. Storytelling, for Cat, means taking the audience by the
hand and leading them on a journey. The road will be serpentine;
shadows will gather; images will shimmer; words will glisten. The
journey will be challenging, since Cat loves to experiment with
the relationship between a listener and the tale. She will play
with her listener's expectations; their wants und needs, and they,
invaraibly, are spellbound. It might be the most unexpected of journeys,
but Cat won't let go and it's a hell of a ride!
Cat's tales can be dark and intimate one moment; wickedly wild and
funny the next. As Erica Wagner wrote in the Times: "Story
hour was never like this."
