Ferruccio Cainero was born in Udine, Italy, in 1953. He is a real cosmopolitan and wonderful example of a Central European who has ended up living in Switzerland and, on top of that, a rare example of a linguistic and storytelling artist. What is fascinating about him are his wit, sensitive humour, sympathy and warmth, and his talent for communication.
Both as an actor and cabaret artist, he impresses his audience with his electrifying presence on stage, which is pleasantly simple and pared down to what is essential. Cainero´s experience is based on many years of stage work as author, director and actor. He has worked in many European countries and has made a name for himself in all of them. It goes without saying that in Switzerland, too, he is well-known.
After all, it has been his base for many years now. Prizes include the Swiss cabaret prize “Goldener Thunfisch“, which he was awarded in 2002 and, one year later, the “Salzburger Stier”.
