Milagros Piñera Ibaceta was born in 1965, and brought up in Cardenas near Havanna in Cuba. She attended a specialist music school in Havanna (Escuela Nacional De Instructores De Arte) where she studied guitar, singing and percussion, and became a soloist of the school's choir. As guitarist and member of an Acapella Octet she performed concerts throughout Cuba. After her graduation in 1983 she spent her next three years as a music teacher as her obligatory civil service. In summer 2000 her collaboration with Daisy Jopling starts, the duo “SON DOS” is born. Milagros is still perfoming with various latin-formations and Austrian musicians at several festivals and events. Since 2002 Milagros has been working on her second solo - CD, which will show her amazing musical diversity in form of her own compositions.
